Drake University men’s basketball head coach Darian DeVries has been named the Hugh Durham Coach of the Year, the website announced Friday, April 5. The award is presented annually to the top mid-major coach in Division I college basketball by and named Hugh Durham, who built winning programs at three different universities. In eight seasons as the head coach at Jacksonville University, Durham became the Dolphins’ all-time winningest Division I coach (106 wins), making him the only coach in NCAA history to be the winningest coach (pct. or wins) at three different Division I schools.center_img DeVries’ latest honor adds to his impressive season that also saw him earn MVC Coach of the Year honors while leading the Bulldogs to the program’s 12th postseason appearance in school history.
