Powered by Firework Indian Football cemented a new place in it’s budding history after holding off the Asian champions Qatar in Doha for what turned out to be a nail-biter of a World Cup qualifier.Advertisement Igor Stimac , the recently appointed Indian Team coach has been implementing quite a positive brand of football within the squad. Although fitness has been an area where the Croatian has been questioned previously, the draw against Qatar was testament to how rapidly the squad is growing and improving in their ability.Advertisement “Our performance against Qatar is an invitation to fans for our next home game. We have heard a lot about the passion for football in Kolkata. I want to see a full house at the YBK Stadium for our match against Bangladesh,” Stimac told IANS.“You need to be our 12th player. We deserve that and I expect them to come and help us get the three points,” said the Croatian.Advertisement “Against Qatar, we proved to everyone who were talking about a lack of fitness among the players. Qatar are in a different league as compared to any team in Asia and my boys made sprints till the very last minute. They defended with such concentration throughout, which really proves their fitness capacity,” the 52-year old coach said.“As a coach, I am more than happy to get a point against the Asian Champions. All credit to my players and I’m really proud of them. I would also like to congratulate Qatar as the crowd really enjoyed the match and there was good football on display.”Sahal Abdul Samad and Udanta both had their share of chances on the counter but failed to convert. However , it was Qatar who were pulling the strings and had the lion’s share of the ball and chances, yet failing to secure the 3 points.“Qatar had more chances than us. But we also had our own, and that make us more experienced. When we become a more experienced side, we will convert those opportunities,” Stimac added. With a match against Bangladesh coming up in a couple of weeks time, Stimac and his men will be raring to bag the first set of 3 points at home. I remember very well that when the coach asked who were goalkeepers, three people put up their hands. Then he asked how many were forwards and 40 or so kids put their hands up and I said to myself, ‘there’s a lot of competition so I won’t be a striker.’ The same thing happened when they asked for midfielders and so I did the same. Then the coach said: ‘Are there any defensive midfielders?’ Seven or eight hands went up so I said to myself: ‘Ok, I’m a defensive midfielder.”“I trained as a defensive midfielder during the trial and the coach pulled me aside and said: ‘You’re not a defensive midfielder, you came here as a forward.’ But I kept insisting that I was and that’s where it all started.”Advertisement The powerful Brazilian forward when on to score 11 goals in his 112 appearances for Sao Paolo and 20 goals in 204 appearances for Real Madrid , exhibiting the fact that Casemiro was born a striker in his mind. Tuesday night, ReadWriteWeb announced that we would be taking a new approach to how we use social media to communicate with our readers. Instead of blasting out automated content on Google Buzz as we do with our Twitter and Facebook accounts, we will be using Buzz to interact on a new level by discussing anything and everything in Buzz’s forum-esque threads. I described it last night in a Buzz comment as “a better version of forums meets a less frantic chat room,” and many positive comments seem to be welcoming this new form of engagement. This also got me thinking about how startups, small businesses and entrepreneurs can take advantage of Buzz.As Twitter’s popularity blossomed over the last few years, companies have created accounts to better communicate with customers and to gauge the overall mood surrounding their brand at any given time. I personally have had better success with customer service over Twitter than over the phone for certain companies, but customer service isn’t the only way companies can take advantage of social media. We’ve discussed using social media to increase your presence online and to boost your brand image, but Buzz could be a unique opportunity for small companies to engage in meaningful discussions with their customers or users in real-time. Twitter is hampered both by it’s character limit and by its presentation and organization; specific conversations do not naturally work well on Twitter. Buzz, on the other hand, does a nice job of grouping comments with posts, allowing for a flowing conversation. Platforms for customer feedback do exist already, but Buzz is already gaining lots of traction and sits close to a place where people live online: their inbox. Despite Buzz’s apparent privacy concerns, the product at its heart is an excellent tool to foster rich discussions.Imagine an iPhone app development house using Buzz to discuss what apps its users want to see, or what features should be added to the ones they have. Or even a web community startup asking its users how it can improve their experience. This isn’t to say that companies are not doing this already in one form or another, but Buzz is an interesting new way to engage with people, and for startups, reaching out to customers and users is a key way to improve their products. The customers who truly care about the products they use can follow those companies on Buzz and provide valuable feedback, while the employees at these companies can engage with their users in a real-time discussion. Going back to the Twitter example, Buzz could even be a way to broadcast issues related to customer service to users; as with any new social media tool, the possibilities are endless. Buzz ultimately takes the follower method of Twitter and merges is with the commenting and liking functionality of Facebook – a “best of both worlds” approach. While lots of people use Facebook to engage with various brands, they mainly use the two-way connections to keep in touch with their real-life friends, whereas Twitter users follow people and brands and truly care about their opinions and insights. Ultimately, the best thing about Buzz is that it is brand new and is still discovering its own identity, so early adopters – individuals and brands alike – can go out there and make it into whatever they want. As for ReadWriteWeb, we will be using Buzz to talk to you, the readers, about all sorts of issues and topics, and already we’re seeing excellent engagement from our audience. One commenter, blogger Kate Dickman, has her own interesting angle on the potential use of Buzz.“What if we were to cut out all of the self-promotion and all of the links and truly use [Buzz] to ask questions of one another? Discuss Issues? Ones that won’t just be limited to a 140 @ reply,” writes Dickman. “Perhaps brands could use it to gather authentic information and input from their customers all in one place without having to ask on their Facebook fan pages where fan comments/company announcements and more are clustered together.”Certainly there are already plenty of ways for people to get news from a company or the latest content from a site like ReadWriteWeb, so why not use Buzz as a way of having a more authentic conversation rather than redundantly posting every blog post or news item? Take the opportunity of a new medium to create new content and new discussions rather than robotically repeating Tweets and Facebook posts.Be sure to follow our ReadWriteWeb team Buzz account and put in your two cents, and for the startups out there, don’t be afraid to embrace a new medium like Buzz to find a new channel of communication with your users. Now that the regular-season conference title is out of the way, the Buckeyes are squared on winning this weekend’s Big Ten Tournament, which could garner them March Madness’ top overall seed. But a lot can happen during the intense championship week when teams across the country make their final case to hear their names called on Selection Sunday. Ohio State won’t have to worry about whether its name will be called, but when. Jerry Palm of CollegeRPI.com told The Lantern the NCAA Tournament’s No. 1 overall seed is the Buckeyes’ to lose, and other teams in contention will need improbable help in the form of an OSU loss. “Anyone else who thinks they can (get the No. 1 overall seed),” Palm said, “is going to have to wait until somebody beats Ohio State.” OSU coach Thad Matta said he enjoys this time of year because he’s been able to learn so much about his team during the conference tournament. He mentioned that having recent Sunday games followed by quick turnarounds early in the next week has helped the Buckeyes prepare for the NCAA Tournament. “We (coaches) talk about it, not with the guys,” Matta said. “We haven’t discussed the NCAA Tournament with them, but I’m sure they watched TV.” Fifth-year senior forward David Lighty is no stranger to basketball in March and is looking for a repeat performance of last year’s Big Ten Tournament, where he earned All-Tournament honors and helped the Buckeyes win the conference title. “I think if we play like we’ve been playing the last five or six games it’s going to be pretty hard to beat us,” Lighty said. “Like coach said, just going in there and being focused, having our minds right to go in there and attack.”

I watched with great anticipation, but unfortunately, it was not this time.“I can not say why [I have not been called], there are 24 names and it’s difficult for the coach to choose, I’ll keep working to be on the next list.“I feel more prepared, I already know the rhythm and style of the Premier League, which helps me on the way to the achievements. I want to be the top scorer of the league, take Everton back to the Champions League and therefore reach the Brazilian national team.”Richarlison is suspended for the Blues next three games after being sent off over the weekend.
